Quick answer
What is a collagen induction facial?
A collagen induction facial, also called collagen induction therapy (CIT) or microneedling, uses a sterile device with very fine needles to create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin. The skin responds with a natural wound-healing cascade that produces new collagen and elastin, gradually making skin firmer and smoother.
It is commonly booked in Seoul for enlarged pores, fine lines and shallow acne scars. Hydrating or regenerative serums are applied through the channels to support recovery. For deeper scars the doctor may suggest RF microneedling.

Before & after
How collagen induction rebuilds the skin
Micro-channels trigger the skin’s repair response, laying down new collagen that fills shallow depressions and tightens pore walls over several weeks.
Redness and tightness, settling quickly.
New collagen starts to form beneath the surface.
Finer pores and softer scars after a series.

FAQ
Collagen induction questions
Is microneedling painful?
With numbing cream most people feel a light scratching or vibration. Thinner areas like the forehead can feel slightly more sensitive.
How is it different from RF microneedling?
Collagen induction uses needles alone. RF microneedling adds radiofrequency heat through the needles for stronger tightening and deeper scar work, usually with a little more downtime.
When can I wear make-up?
Usually after 24 hours, once the micro-channels have closed.
Can I travel or fly afterwards?
Yes, usually the next day. Keep skin clean, moisturised and protected from the sun.
Do foreigners pay more?
No. International patients pay the same price as local patients at Umi Clinic.
