A carbon peel is a laser facial in which a thin layer of medical-grade carbon lotion is applied, allowed to settle into the pores, and then vaporised with a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The carbon absorbs the laser energy, lifting away oil, dead cells and debris, while gentle heat helps shrink oil glands temporarily.
