Why do I have dark circles under my eyes, and what can a clinic do?

Many dark circles under the eyes are partly a shadow. As the tear trough hollows and the cheek pad descends with age, or because of inherited bone structure, a groove forms that catches less light. Thin under-eye skin then lets the purple tone of the muscle and veins beneath show through.
